Duplicitous phishing attempts using the name of PostFinance

Caution is now even required with letters you receive. The phishing attack in the name of PostFinance shows that no effort is too great for fraudsters to get their hands on your money.

06.08.2024 –

More and more PostFinance customers have received phishing letters that were difficult to recognise as attempted fraud. They were asked to reactivate their e-banking access immediately, using a QR code in a letter printed on high-quality paper with the correct postage. However, this QR code led to a fake website which the scammers used to obtain the relevant login details.

That's why you must be very vigilant, even with documents received through the mail. Scrutinise supposedly official letters very carefully. You can protect yourself against fraud and theft by making a quick enquiry at your bank.
