After all, the crowds between the market stalls and food stands are often easy prey. Perpetrators take advantage of the smallest distraction to get hold of cash and debit or credit cards. Always be especially careful when making your way through throngs of people!

Tips for the general public:
- Keep wallets and purses close to your body in zipped or buttoned pockets.
- Do not take any more cash with you than you will need.
- When paying by card or withdrawing money do not let yourself be distracted at the payment terminal.
- Make sure you know your PIN by heart. Never write your PIN on the card itself.
- Always conceal your PIN when entering it (with your hand, wallet / purse, etc.).
- If your card is stolen, have it cancelled at once and report the theft to the police.
