Geoblocking - little effort, major impact


Phishing attacks are aimed at obtaining card data. By actively editing the card settings in the card app, card users themselves can contribute a great deal to their own safety.

Card apps offer various options for restricting payment functions. For example, online or contactless payments can be activated or deactivated. Geoblocking is another security option that blocks fraudulent transactions originating from abroad.

Our tip for holidays abroad: 
Stick a post-it note on your passport to remind you to check the geographical settings on your card before travelling abroad. If you have any questions, the card issuer will be happy to help.
