She was contacted on Instagram by a profile that supposedly came from Brad Pitt. She was sceptical at first. But the film star sent her poems, loving messages, photos and videos every day. Today it is clear that all photo evidence was generated using artificial intelligence.

The relationship quickly deepened and soon the fake Brad Pitt proposed to Anne. He pretended that expensive gifts were on their way to her, but she first had to pay costly customs duties. When the fraudster learned that Anne had benefited from a very generous divorce settlement, he upped his demands, claiming he urgently needed money for kidney cancer treatment. As proof, he sent her more pictures from the hospital - created with AI. In total, Anne paid the fake Brad Pitt around 830,000 Euros. The fraud only came to light when Anne discovered the real Brad Pitt with his new girlfriend in the media.

That's why you should always #watchout. Do not trust messages from strangers and never pass on your card details to third parties.
