Switzerland is in carnival mode! Today Lucerne fires the starting gun and launches the “Fötzeliregen” to start the three "rüüdigen" days. Just a week and a half later we’re off to Basel: where the morning prank is the official start of the "three most beautiful days of the year". And as happens every year, pickpockets and other fraudsters join inthe fun of the carnival.

- Put your money and cards in secure inside pockets, not in handbags or rucksacks:
- Take only the most important cards and IDs with you:
- Memorise your PIN numbers, never write them down:
- Make sure no-one distracts you at the cash machine: - always shield the keypad when entering your PIN number, so no-one can see what you are inputting.
