Christmas donation or fraud?

In the weeks before Christmas many charitable organisations ask for donations. But scammers also try to get your money with fake appeals for donations.

Here’s how to protect yourself:

The best way to donate is directly via the organisation's website. Reputable organisations have transparent contact and account details on their website.
Enter the URL of the organisation manually into your browser.
Check the organisation's website: Spelling mistakes, strange domains or no “Legal Notices” section are warning signs.
Be careful with links in social media or links sent via WhatsApp: Do not click on links from strangers and never enter your personal details and/or debit and credit card information.
