Many believe that older people are particularly affected by card fraud. Or that younger generations act carelessly and are therefore susceptible to fraudsters’ tricks. But the reality is different.
10.03.2026 –The Card Security Study 2025 shows that:
- There is no clear victim profile - age or income hardly play a role.
- The only recognisable trend is that people who use their card daily or frequently are affected more often than occasional users.
- 36% would like to do more to protect themselves but don't know
- where to start
Conclusion: Card fraud is not limited to any particular target group. This makes prevention and a healthy degree of scepticism in everyday digital life all the more important.
