Theft of cash at cash dispensers


When it comes to theft at ATMs, it is the cash issued by such machines that the criminals have their eye on. They watch their victims taking out cash – often the elderly – and just wait for the right time to strike.

The fraudsters cunningly distract victims, for example, by engaging them in conversation or dropping something on the ground. They sometimes even manage to intervene in the transaction and enter a large sum of money for withdrawal. They then make a swift grab for the cash and run away.
