Social engineering: fraudsters trick wedding planners


A current example of social engineering shows that nothing is too much effort for fraudsters when it comes to obtaining company data.

A couple claiming to be getting married asked a wedding planner to assist with their nuptials in late 2024. Their request seemed deceptively genuine. However, it was internet fraudsters who were behind it, using a clever scam to obtain the planner's login details.
