What is malware and how does it get onto my computer?
Malware refers to programmes that can get onto your computer in various ways.
01.02.2024 –
Typically, they might be installed by opening file attachments in an email message, by using free software downloads, or by clicking a download button when visiting a website. You click on a file or link and a programme is installed unnoticed in the background. This enables fraudsters to intercept communications, steal or destroy data, manipulate e-banking transactions, or view card details. So be careful and follow a few basic rules:
- Never open suspicious email attachments or links.
- Only download from trustworthy sources.
- Keep your programmes and devices up to date.
